REINCARNATION By the Kids in Room 2

This poem is part of a class poetry project inspired by the song "Old Glory" By the band Harvey Milk.

How do you think the pigeon feels?
Squished by a bus,
Stuck on the wheels.
Do pigeons know about suicide?
I asked this one and
he said, “No,
but I believe in reincarnation.”

How do you think my wooden chair feels,
screeching on the floor when I move it around,
wobbling
when I sit on it?
My mom puts something hard under one of its legs.
Do you ever feel that way?
I did the time my sister went to Mexico
and I stayed here.

How do you think your pants feel?
Sagging down to your knees,
ripping, fraying, falling down.
Have you ever felt like that?
I have,
the time I got lost in the forest.
